Why am I seeing duplicated transactions?

If you’re seeing transactions twice, there are several possible reasons that could cause duplicate transactions in the app

These can include having a PayPal account linked, having an account linked twice, or connection issues with our linking provider Plaid.

Here a few things to check for:

Do you have your PayPal account linked?

If you have both PayPal and your bank account linked and your PayPal is connected to your bank account, any transaction that you make through PayPal will appear twice (once from PayPal, once from your bank account).

The easiest way to fix this is to unlink PayPal. Since the account is connected to your bank, those transactions will be in the app already.

To unlink a bank account, you can:

  • Select the Settings gear icon “⚙️” in the upper left of your app

  • Select the Linked Accounts option.

  • From there, you can select the three dots next to an account and tap Unlink to get that disconnected!

Do you have your account linked twice?

There's a possibility here that you've linked the same accounts! To check if this is the case, you can

  • Select the Settings gear icon “⚙️” in the upper left of your app

  • Select the Linked Accounts option. Do you see the same accounts linked twice? If so, you can unlink one of the accounts.

  • From there, you can select the three dots next to an account and tap Unlink to get that disconnected!

If you’ve confirmed that you aren’t experiencing either of the above possible causes, it's possible that your bank is having a connection problem with our linking provider, Plaid.

(P.S: a temporary workaround is manually ignoring transactions. To do this, head over to the Transaction tab and select the transaction you want to adjust.

You can change the date, add a note, rename it, assign the transaction to a bill, or ignore it from your budget.)
